NYS Labor Time Warranty Law
On September 4, 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul signed landmark legislation into law that requires vehicle manufacturers to fully compensate dealers for the actual time it takes
to diagnose and perform warranty and recall repairs. The law that went into effect at signing sets up a process where dealers are to be reimbursed for the same time allotted by a third-party
labor time guide.
While New York is now the 3rd state in the country to pass a Labor Time Warranty reimbursement law – Wisconsin, and Illinois already passed theirs – New York’s requirements
are set up differently.
On September 19th, we hosted a webinar to clarify the impact of this legislation on your dealership, outline the next steps for dealers, and discuss what to expect from OEMs. Below, you can watch the webinar recording and download the presentation slides.
