Since 1910, the Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association (GNYADA) has been a vital resource for franchised new car dealers in the metropolitan New York area.

The Greater New York Automobile Dealers Association  was formed in 1910 as the Brooklyn Automotive Merchants Association. From its earliest days in Brooklyn, the Association has proudly served New York’s dealers and their employees. The Association has grown since then, taking on initiatives that impact almost every aspect of dealership operations. Our purpose is to create a profitable business environment for our members.

GNYADA Mission Statement
The Association's purpose and mission is to encourage, promote and support excellence in business practices, ethics, standards, and service by automobile dealers; encourage, promote, and support through education, communication, and cooperative efforts efficient, ethical and honest management, sales, and service organizations for the benefit of both the automobile retail industry and consumers of automobiles and related services in the greater New York area; encourage, promote, and support the passage of beneficial legislation and the creation of a positive and progressive, and cooperative regulatory atmosphere at all levels of government, which will support the mission of the Association and further the best interests of its members.

GNYADA works to protect franchise laws, and keep dealers informed of important, ever-changing issues, trends, and legislation within the retail new vehicle marketplace.

The Association supports and opposes hundreds of bills each year, conducts dozens of meetings with state and local legislators to advocate for changes that help your business and fight those that are detrimental to dealers. The Association promotes efforts that affect the automotive retail industry, including matters such as franchise law protections, auto finance, tax issues, recalls, advertising regulations, and broker issues.

In addition to advocating for pro dealer legislation, the Association provides essential services for franchised new car dealers, including assistance with employee benefits, regulatory compliance support, updates on the latest laws affecting the industry, and training and education for all personnel.

New York International Auto Show
GNYADA also produces the New York International Automobile Show.  The New York International Auto Show is one of the most prestigious automotive events in the world, held annually at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.

This allows shoppers to make informed decisions and better understand their options, whether they are actively in the market or simply exploring what’s new in the automotive world.
