On September 4, 2024, Governor Kathy Hochul signed landmark legislation into law that requires vehicle manufacturers to fully compensate dealers for the actual time it takes to diagnose and perform warranty and recall repairs. The law that went into effect at signing sets up a process where dealers are to be reimbursed for the same time allotted by a third-party labor time guide.
